Deal Jackets

The whole deal in one jacket.

Buyer, vehicle, trade-in, taxes, contracts and signatures, entered once. Then print the jacket or send it for e-signature, all together.

A deal jacket for a 2020 Honda Accord Sport: the Next issue button walks from Vehicle to People to Deal until nothing is missing, and the recommended documents go out in one e-sign envelope that moves from sent to delivered to completed.

What's inside

Everything the deal needs, on one record.

Starts from the VIN

Type the VIN and the year, make and model fill themselves in.

Documents picked from the deal

The jacket recommends the documents this deal needs. Add or remove any of them, customize the wording, and change any value before it prints.

One envelope, every signature

Send several documents in one DocuSign envelope and follow it from sent to delivered to completed.

Vehicle history in a click

Run a ClearVIN history check from the vehicle without leaving the deal.

Co-buyers, trade-ins and liens

Add a co-buyer, a trade-in or a lienholder only when the deal has one.

Nothing left blank

It tells you what's missing before the buyer leaves.

The Overview lists every answer the deal still needs, and Next issue takes you to each one until there's nothing left.

  • Required items are the ones that would come out blank on the paperwork
  • One button jumps to the next missing answer, wherever it is
  • Optional details are kept apart, so they never hold up a deal
A deal jacket Overview with three required items — odometer reading, the buyer's driver license number and the trade-in payoff — each checked off until nothing required is missing, and the buyer's email left as optional.

The numbers

Know the numbers before you shake hands.

Every car shows its projected profit from its price and cost, and every deal adds up price, taxes and trade-in to the exact balance the buyer owes.

  • Projected profit and margin on each vehicle, and profit over time in your reports
  • Trade-in credit, or negative equity, counted on the same card
  • Each payment you take fills the bar until the balance reads $0.00
A deal summary card: subtotal, taxes and trade-in add up to the total, two payments fill the progress bar and the balance due reaches $0.00.

Financing

Buy here, pay here and lease contracts from the same entry.

Change the deal type and the jacket adds what that deal needs — a payment schedule and collections for buy here, pay here, lease terms and a residual for a lease.

  • Cash, outside finance, buy here pay here, lease and wholesale deals
  • Send the buyer a credit application by email or a link, and they fill it in on their phone
  • Weekly, every-two-weeks or monthly payments, with APR, finance charge and total of payments worked out
A deal switching from cash to buy here, pay here, and the payment summary that appears: $143.25 every two weeks, with the total of payments, amount financed, finance charge and APR.
A buyer filling in a credit application on a phone: first name, last name and date of birth entered, saved automatically, with the About you section checked off.

Who did what

Every deal keeps a record of changes and your team's notes, and the audit log covers the whole dealership.

Deal jacket questions

Can I work a deal from a phone or tablet?

Yes. The deal jacket has its own phone layout, with the sections and Next issue a tap away.

Does the buyer need an account to e-sign?

No. Each signer gets an email from DocuSign and signs from their phone or computer. You see when the envelope is delivered and when it's completed.

Can I print instead of e-signing?

Yes. Print the jacket for signatures on paper, send it for e-signature, or both — it's your call on every deal.

I'm coming from paper or another system. How do I start?

There's nothing to install. Create your account, type the VIN of the next car you sell, and build that deal here.
